The Missouri General Assembly and Lord of the Flies

When the General Assembly reconvened during the COVID-19 event, they did so under the stated intention of passing the budget by the Constitutional deadline. They also indicated they would be addressing only those things which needed to be done in consideration of the COVID-19 situation. They noted the Capitol was open but asked everyone to stay away including lobbyists and the public.

The Testing Fallacy

Gone is the goal of “flattening the curve” to make sure everyone infected has a chance to be treated. The new goal seems to be to somehow “kill” the virus by continuing to lock down the country. They say we can’t re-open without expansive testing to see who is currently infected.

It doesn’t matter the issue, when the “experts” are left to their own devices they will inevitably design a system that is as perfect as you can get for their specialty but isn’t necessarily the system we need, want or that works. That’s why elected officials must be held accountable for following the advice of bureaucrats without sufficiently challenging them.

Never Forget!

The television was on with the news that a plane had flown into one of the Trade Center towers. Having flown into New York area airports for several, most recently the month before, I thought that strange that a plane could be that far off course.
