United for Missouri Celebrates Largest Tax Cut in State History!
Missourians will keep more of their money!
Jefferson City, Missouri – Today CEO Carl Bearden issued a statement on the passage of the largest tax cut in state history by the Missouri General Assembly.
“Senator Bill Eigel, Speaker Pro Tem Elijah Haahr, and Senator Andrew Koenig have combined efforts to change Missouri’s antiquated, regressive income tax system so that it benefits Missourians and our state’s economy.” said Carl Bearden, CEO of United for Missouri.
“These elected officials have worked with their colleagues to overcome resistance from the gargantuan state bureaucracy to make these changes. They have made changes to a flawed state income tax system that will make Missouri more competitive and lets Missourians keep more of their hard-earned money.”
“Senators Eigel and Koenig worked diligently with colleagues from both sides of the aisle to develop a bill that serves the needs of Missourians to create a fairer and simpler tax system,” Bearden said, “United for Missouri supported the efforts in the House and Senate to make these much-needed reforms.”
“Speaker Pro Tem Haahr’s bill became the vehicle for the first steps needed in the individual tax reform package.” Bearden said.
Bearden continued, “United for Missouri was pleased to work with Speaker Haahr, Senator Eigel and Senator Koenig on behalf of all Missourians who desire to have the fairest, simplest tax system possible. There is still work left to do to fix Missouri’s tax system but these elected officials have established the major pillars that will support the work to come.”
