Rahm Emmanuel, mayor of Chicago, Tom Mennino, mayor of Boston and Edwin Mah Lee, mayor of San Francisco have demonstrated their party symbol’s alternative name in their attacks on Chick-fil-a.  You don’t have to agree with the stance taken by Chick-fil-a but unless you are a hypocrite – you have to defend their right to take that stance.  That’s what free markets are about – letting the market decide.  However, considering who we are discussing, it is no surprise as they are clueless about free markets!

Your moral convictions may or may not be in line with Chick-fil-a’s stance but that’s not really the question before these mayors.  Let’s spell it out to them: F-R-E-E–M-A-R-K-E-T.  Consumers can show their agreement or disagreement by not patronizing Chick-fil-a.

I have to say, Mayor Bloomberg gets it! He supports same sex marriage and disagrees with the stance taken by Chick-fil-a. He also supports Chick-fil-a’s right to their stance and says it’s “none of the government’s business“!

Rahm,  Tom and Ed need to get it too! Again, they don’t have to agree but they shouldn’t act like the southbound end of a donkey in their opposition.

So, for Rahm and Tom and many others, I’m happy to provide you this little message in song. Enjoy!
