The legislative Spring Break begins upon adjournment this Thursday. It’s been a busy session so far. One of the biggest issues has been the Obamacare Medicaid expansion proposals. United for Missouri members have sent in almost 10,000 emails in opposition to this unwarranted, fiscally irresponsible expansion of a broken system and it’s had an impact!
The House has had two votes on expansion and they were both resounding NO’s! The Senate Appropriations committee is preparing to conduct a hearing on Senate Bill 349 (Levota D-11) upon morning adjournment on Wednesday, March 13.
Based on the input they are getting from their constituents, they should be voting the bill down! However, you can still help make that happen.
First, if you have not yet sent an email to your representative and senator in opposition to the Obamacare Medicaid expansion you can still do so by clicking here.
Second, if you are at all able, attend the hearing. At last word, the committee was set to allow 30 minutes from proponents and opponents each. Even if you only come and say “I oppose the Obamacare Medicaid expansion proposal” it would be helpful. Your presence will make a difference!

iam on Medicaid due to a injury received at work ,I cannot get a doctor as my doctor died of cancer he practiced medicine up till the day before he died Niko a van Zanten ,M.D. the last doctor I saw told me he will not take any Medicaid patients as Medicaid only pays $15.00 per a visit and it cost him $45.00 to keep the lights on . I should be getting my work injury medical care payed for by the secondary injury fund ,but it has not been funded in over 7 years. when I got hurt ,if I had been able to get medical care my neck could have been fixed and I might have not lost my left eye , or I may have not lost the frontal parietal part of my brain ,had never been on any assistance before this injury ,worked my hole life yet I will never be released to return to work ever again ,and I am only 52.
