We’ve all had those “I wish I had those words back” moments. President Obama undoubtedly had that moment when he uttered the “you didn’t build that” comment. Unlike most of us however, he is now trying to say his words were taken out of context. It continues to amaze me that in today’s age of video capture that people think they can get away with such false statements.
The folks at Job Creators Alliance have put together a little video that accurately captures what the President said – in context.
UPDATE:
(h/t Caroline Mueller) And here’s a parody video on the topic!
You can lie all you want about taking President Obama’s remarks out of context. All but some of Rush Limbaugh’s Dittoheads are fully capable of finding a video clip that shows the Presidents comments leading up to the moment where his detractors insist on starting the tape. The “that” that business owners did not build or create BY THEMSELVES AS INDIVIDUALS was our political + economic system, roads, the internet — the infrastructure that businesses use when obtaining supplies or delivering their product.
We are not the ones telling the lies. You are free to believe the lies being told if you wish but come November, I don’t believe the majority of America will be buying those lies a second time!
Sorry, Carl. You can lie about lying. Still don’t believe you.
I’m ok with that. I’m confident that enough people will believe the truth and will not continue believing Obama’s lies. November is coming!
Context is a killer, huh? You just maybe might someday be able do waltz you way out of “somebody helped you”, but you are not going to get away from “you didn’t build that.”
Oh, what I meant was “We have to stand behind them?” If you can listen to what the man said in context, and through any contortion hear “we need to stand behind them”, you not only are easily manipulated, but you aren’t too bright.
The proof is in the pudding. You can check any so-called “unbiased” news source to hear what he said — and you’ll find out this video hasn’t been changed a bit. Thanks Carl, for so clearly showing the truth that’s been obvious to many of us for a long time: the current President says whatever he wants or needs to say at the moment to please his listeners, truth be cast aside!
